The Ormeasco di Pornassio DOC 2018 is a dry and smooth red wine recommended to pair with stuffed pasta, mushroom-based first courses, and meat dishes; it develops aromas and scents of cherry and ripe red fruits. This grape variety is the great passion of the Lupi estate, both in production and cultivation. Growing Ormeasco means working in vineyards on terraces at 650 meters above sea level, with 80-year-old plants, which is the true fortune of this grape variety. The Lupi estate has been operating since the early 1960s, becoming over the decades one of the benchmarks for Ligurian wines. With just over 10 hectares of vineyards located in areas of greatest vocation: Pigato in Ortovero, Campochiesa, Arnasco, and Salea in the province of Savona. Vermentino in Diano Castello and Cipressa in the province of Imperia. Ormeasco in the municipalities of Pieve di Teco, Trastanello, and Pornassio. Rossese in the Dolceacqua and Soldano area. The Lupi brothers have also resumed the cultivation of their family olive groves, previously abandoned, alongside the production of quality wine, producing excellent extra virgin olive oil from the prized Taggiasca variety olives
