This Pigato Riviera Ligure di Ponente DOC is a typical Ligurian white wine that comes from the vines that grow on a hill near the village of Cervo, in the province of Imperia, not far from the sea, in a mild microclimate that will then characterize the grapes in their qualities. The vinification of the La Ginestraia winery ensures that the aroma of the Pigato grape variety is expressed at its best, thanks to careful processing in all phases: cold maceration, soft pressing and fermentation at a controlled temperature.
Pigato is a soft and balanced Ligurian white wine. Full-bodied, it has a great persistence in the mouth. On the nose we can recognize the aromas of ripe fruit (pear and apricot) and pleasant citrus notes that blend with floral hints of acacia and hawthorn.
Pigato Riviera Ligure di Ponente DOC is an excellent wine to serve with typical local dishes, from pasta with Genoese pesto to pansoti di magro, focaccias and even farinata, cima and cappon magro; perfect as a white to drink with fish; it can also be chosen as a wine for appetizers.
