Chinotto di Finalborgo is a typical fruit of the Riviera Ligure di Ponente. The origin of this citrus fruit is not certain but it probably has a common relative with the bitter orange; then it arrived from the East in 1500 in Liguria where it found its ideal habitat becoming a typical crop of those places. Today there are very few producers of this excellence: thanks to our direct relationship with one of these farmers you will have the opportunity to try a very rare fruit, which is not easily found on the market.
Chinotti, given their very particular and intense flavor, are not eaten like fruit but are mainly used for preparations, worked with sugar, to make syrups and candied fruit, or in alcohol to garnish desserts. Its juice, fragrant and refreshing, is used to produce digestives and bitters. The pulp, on the other hand, is ideal for creating sweet jams, mustards and creams to accompany cheeses.
