Chinotti di Savona are a treasure of the ancient Italian and French tradition. Once upon a time, they were present in many cafes, where they were displayed in vases with small green citrus fruits immersed in Maraschino, ready to delight with their unique aroma and digestive properties.
This special citrus fruit is grown exclusively in Liguria, within the territory that goes from Varazze to Finale Ligure, under the protection of the Slow Food Presidium. Although the chinotto has Chinese origins, it was a navigator from Savona who brought it to the Ligurian coast in 1500. Here, in this perfect environment, the chinotto has developed its exceptional organoleptic qualities, giving an intense and unmistakable scent that characterizes the entire Riviera.
