The Pigato Riviera Ligure di Ponente DOC is a typical white wine from Liguria, made from a white berry grape variety characterized by speckles on the skin, believed to have spread in the region since the 1600s. It has a dry yet soft taste, with notes of peach and Mediterranean herbs on the nose. It is recommended to serve it chilled, paired with seafood dishes or traditional Genoese cuisine. It also pairs well with delicate-flavored pasta dishes. The Lupi company has been operating since the early 1960s, becoming over the decades one of the benchmarks for Ligurian wines. They cultivate just over 10 hectares of vineyards in the most suitable areas: Pigato in Ortovero, Campochiesa, Arnasco, and Salea, in the province of Savona. Vermentino in Diano Castello and Cipressa, in the province of Imperia. Ormeasco in the municipalities of Pieve di Teco, Trastanello, and Pornassio. Rossese in the Dolceacqua and Soldano areas. Additionally, the Lupi brothers have revived the cultivation of their family's olive groves, previously abandoned, complementing their production of high-quality wine with excellent extra virgin olive oil made from Taggiasca olives.
