Ciliegiolo is a typical Tuscan grape variety that has spread and become traditional also in the neighboring regions such as the Riviera di Levante in Liguria. Here in the province of La Spezia, on clayey and calcareous soil, this extraordinary vine grows whose berries at the moment of their maximum ripeness when they are harvested express the characteristic cherry scent (hence the name "ciliegiolo").

100% Ciliegiolo wine, vinified in red (in fact Ciliegiolo can also be vinified in white or rosé), with a wonderful ruby color. Good structure and beautiful body, it has a harmonious acidity; the peculiar fruity notes are immediately perceptible in taste and on the nose.

Arrigoni's Ciliegiolo Liguria di Levante IGT 2021 is produced in the province of La Spezia (Beverino, Sarzana), here this vine grows on clayey and calcareous soil which will then give life to a red wine with good taste structure and a savory finish, salinity which, like the salt in food that stimulates the taste buds and encourages us to taste it again, in the same way invites us to enjoy another glass.

The aromatic characteristic of the Ciliegiolo grape is the extraordinary concentration of notes and aromas of ripe cherry that are even more evident at the time of the harvest at the end of September. In the glass, the fruity nuances are enriched by a delicate bouquet whose background is perceptible delicate spicy and balsamic suggestions.

The recommended pairing with Ciliegiolo Liguria di Levante IGT are light appetizers and vegetable-based dishes, typical of the Ligurian tradition, such as Genoese meatloaf, vegetable fillings and all savory pies.
